He came from nowhere, no godfather, no guidance, no bright opportunities yet he persisted. “Never trust your fear, they don’t know your strength”- perfectly reflects Rakesh Udiyar’s life experiences. His journey has been both intriguing and motivating. From selling candies and bangles at Dadar station to having his fitness academy he has surely come a long way. Today he is a trusted trainer to Bollywood’s most adored celebrities such as Salman Khan, Amir Khan, Arbaz Khan, Kunal Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Zaheer Iqbal Ratanse, Amit Sadh, Pulkit Samrat, Fatema Sana Shaikh, Rhea Chakraborty, Sai MAnjrekar, Ayushman Khurana, Wahid Bamboowala, Sayali Nagwekar, Diya Mirza, Daisy Shah and various ceberitues from South Ramcharan, Rakulpreet, Upasana, Ramcharan, Sai Dharam Tej and many more. While working with Arbaz Khan he got well acquainted with the Khan family.

Growing up he belonged to a low-income family, he played Kabaddi and was considered a naughty kid in his family. His father was a contractor with a company named Hamilton Cycles. He was earning well for his family until he got a severe paralysis attack. He earned lakhs of rupees in those days but suddenly things changed. None of the family members helped them financially. He was around 5 years old. There were days when they slept on an empty stomach. There wasn’t enough money or food to eat.

He, along with his brother, decided to do something to support the family. They started selling candies and bangles at Dadar station. They worked along with attending school. Later, his mother started working for a rich family. The owners of the house supported him and his brother’s education. Everyone in the family started working due to which his father became all alone. Later, his health deteriorated and he passed away. They were in disbelief and shock due to the sudden demise.

He requested the owner of the house his mother worked for, to let him study until Grade 10. While studying, he worked at Amritsari Dhaba. He practiced freehand exercises to stay fit and ate what was available to him. He enjoyed reading about fitness and nutrition. He was always attracted to fitness. So he decided to pursue it.

He started his fitness journey at the young age of 16 years, as a floor sweeper at Q’s Gym. After some time he got promoted to a spotter, he assisted clients with the machines. He worked at various gyms in Mumbai. Although after some time he quit his job and moved to Dubai with his mother. Later, he came back to India.

One of his friends got him in touch with a client. He was taken to Arbaaz Khan’s house. Arbaaz Khan was initially apprehensive about Rakesh’s abilities, but he made him lose 12 kgs for his movie Kissan. This is how he started working with celebrities. He also trained Dia Mirza, Daisy shah, Amir Khan, and many more.

One day he got a call very late in the night saying ‘Kya kar raha hai? Main bol raha hun’. He did not understand who was on the other side and hung up. Little did he know B-towns Bhai had called him. Salman Khan wanted to look lean and chiseled for his movie Bodyguard. And Rakshesh made that happen.

Were there many opportunities coming his way? Absolutely no! He created opportunities for himself and believed in his dreams. He observed that in India people do not like to share knowledge. He did not get any guidance or support throughout his journey. He wanted to do something about it and change the course of fitness education in India. He believes, “Sharing knowledge with each other, increases our knowledge”. He came in contact with his fitness role model Dennis James and gained a lot of knowledge from him. He also gained knowledge and proper understanding from various international fitness trainers like Milos Sarcev, Charles Poliquin, Dave Palumbo, Ben Pakulski, and Charles Glass. He also got an opportunity to pursue several fitness courses abroad.

He began Body Wizard Fitness Academy with a good intentions in mind.  He wanted to educate gym trainers and give back to the community, his country. His dream is to make Body Wizard recognized all over the world. He came in touch with many good people such as Balkrishna, etc who shared a common goal and made his journey more enriching. Rakesh Udaiyar’s story is one of strength, perseverance, and staying hungry to achieve your dreams.
